Say sorry

When you are upset, examine your behaviour carefully. If you find that you have made mistakes, if you have said something hurtful or behaved in an unpleasant manner, it would be gracious to apologize. This may also make you feel better about yourself. The other person too would then have to back down and you may be able to prevent the conflict from continuing. Learning to say sorry at the right time is a very important skill that should be practiced by everyone. There is no shame in realizing and accepting one’s mistakes.

Find a friend

Talking to someone who cares really helps when you are upset. You can talk to someone close to you, a friend or a relative, even a teacher or some adult that you trust, who can listen sympathetically. In fact someone not directly involved in the crisis can help a great deal by bringing a different point of view to the matter. Sometimes it is enough just to let off steam, to have a shoulder to cry on; sometimes they may be able to give you good advice. In either case, chances are that you will feel better about things
