Singing spoon

1. Take a spoon and a string (long enough).

2. Tie a spoon’s handle with one end of the string.

3. Wrap the other end of the string in the index finger and insert this in the ear. 

4. Let the spoon hang down freely.

5. Let the spoon hit the table/wall or ask your friend to hit the spoon gently with another spoon (or pen/pencil) and listen carefully.

Touch at various places along the string.

Do you feel the vibrations in the string ?

Keeping the finger in ear, hit the spoon, lift the string from somewhere in the middle and release it quickly.
