What are the things that come to your mind when you think about a healthy person?

Discuss and write all the things that you would associate with a healthy person.

Now you have a list of things that indicate that a person is healthy. We can call these “our health indicators”.

An organization named WHO (World Health Organization) also came up with pointers to define health. After studying various situations, they defined health as :

“ A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

PHYSICAL HEALTH

MENTAL HEALTH SOCIAL HEALTH

In simpler words, it means that health is not only the absence of any disease. It is the state where our body is able to do the day to day work properly (physical health), we are able to understand our strengths, we can cope with the normal tensions of life (mental health), our surroundings are clean and hygienic, we have friendly interactions with family, friends and neighbours and we have concern for other people around us (social health).

Can you use the indicators that you have listed and classify them as indicators for Physical health, Mental health and Social health?
