The Moon

In this unit we will take a closer look to the Moon and explain various phenomena related to the Sun-Earth-Moon system. In Lesson 1 we begin with a description of the moon and its motion. In Lesson 2 we explain occurrence of phases of the Moon and eclipses. Lesson 3 is a digital lesson based on motion of the Moon and its phases. In lesson 4 we see why time of moonrise and moonset changes everyday, how position of the Moon changes with respect to background stars over a month and what are its scientific and cultural consequences.
