Lali’s Thinking 1
Lali can hardly eat nowadays; she weeps every night at the thought of never going to school again. All she can think of now is that she will be washing, cleaning and cooking in other people’s house for the rest of her life. She thinks of her father who was so proud of her. He always took her annual report to show his friends in the factory. But he is not with her, so she feels all alone and defeated. She knows that her family needs her help but the death of her dream is too much to bear.
Lali’s Thinking 2
Lali is very worried about her future and the way things have changed for her family. She misses her father so much; she remembers how proud he was of her; how he would take her annual report to show his friends at the factory; how he encouraged her to dream big- he would never have allowed her to stop studying! She knows that her family needs her help, but not at the cost of her dream. So she decides to find a way out.
