Kanasu: That was such a good game of kabaddi! I’m so happy that it is a Sunday and we can play all day. Usually, we have time to play only after school. Sahir: And in the mornings there is no time. Zo: I know. Tomorrow we have to wake up early to go to school. I usually wake up 3 hours before school starts. I sweep the floor, then, I help my grandmother cook. What about the two of you? Kanasu: My aunt cooks breakfast for all of us, so I don’t need to wake up early. I take a bath and, often, I read my science lesson for the day before leaving for school. Sahir: I go to the well daily and help Fatima carry the buckets of water back home for the family. Then I wash my clothes. My father leaves for the field early each morning. During harvest season, I have to help him after school. Zo: Will the work in the field increase after the canal is constructed? Sahir: I think so. Yesterday I was working with my father after school. He said that he’ll have twice the harvest. I think he is happy about the canal. Kanasu: I was working in my uncle’s shop yesterday after school. Your father and my uncle were talking about the canal. I think the canal will be built on my uncle’s land. He’s worried that he may have to sell his land to the government. Sahir: Oh! Will your uncle sell his land? Kanasu: I don’t know. ... he’s very worried. Sahir: Oh no! That’s sad. Kanasu (sighs): Anyway Zo, how do you spend your evenings? Zo: I come home from school and listen to the radio for sometime. After dinner, if there is no power cut, I study for a while. Kanasu: Oh! Oh! Last night, I went to Thomsong’s house to watch the new Shah Rukh Khan film. The whole village turned up. You should have come too! Sahir: I didn’t know! I would have come. Kanasu: I’ll let you know the next time. Sahir: You’ll forget. Kanasu: No, I won’t! Sahir: Yes, you will. Kanasu: I said, I won’t. Zo: Enough! Both of you. It is almost lunchtime. Let’s go back now. I’m sad that the weekend is almost over. We’ve had so much fun! Replay the video if you wish to listen to the story again. When you are ready, go to the next task. [Contributed by administrator on 10. Januar 2018 21:40:36] × Tags No tags defined yet!
