Dika and Mama are friends. They sit together in the class and also play together. The students in their school usually make fun of Mama, but Dika doesn’t like their behaviour. He always supports and helps Mama. During lunch break, Mama tries to jump over a short fence and falls down. Other boys standing around start laughing at him. They laugh and say, “Even a 3 year old child can jump over this fence. You are such a loser.’’ Dika helps Mama to get up and they walk away from that place.
At a school picnic Dika and Mama play with other boys in a park. Mama falls twice while playing kho-kho. Whenever Mama falls, the boys tease him and call him a loser. Dika and Mama stop playing with the boys and sit in a corner. Dika tries to cheer up Mama and then they start playing badminton.
One day, when Mama drops a catch in a game of cricket, others make fun of him, again calling him a ‘loser’, except Dika who is quiet. The others look at him and say “your friend is a loser, you are friend of a loser, friend of a loser….” and keep repeating this. Dika suddenly shouts at Mama, “You are a loser, can’t you take a simple catch?” The others stop taunting Dika and the game continues. A couple of minutes later, Dika sees tears coming down Mama’s face.
