We described frequency in terms of shrillness. Shriller sound has a higher frequency. There is a video of straw flute, where students can compare the shrillness in the sound as the length of the straw varies. 
You can also ask them to categories sound of the basis of shrillness and loudness. You can use audio clip 1.2 for that.
