Activity: 1

Materials Required:
1. One 10 metres rope
2. Sketch pen

Procedure:
1. Hold one end of a long string (10 metres) in your hand and ask your friend to hold the other end.
2. Mark a small portion on the string with a colour.
3. Now give a sudden jerk to the string.

Did the coloured mark change its position along the string?    

Did you feel light and frequent jerks in your hand? Why does this happen?

Activity: 2

You must have floated a paper boat on water.

What happens to the boat when there are waves on the water surface?
